Aeeeayoooooow-- my shoulder sprung a leak! |
It's Sunday afternoon, and I just got to the airport. Got an hour to kill, so I thought I would start on the journal.
It's been a crazy busy week.
I finally got up to the second story of my house to clean off the mold growing all over. I thought I might have to buy a really big ladder, but then realized I could use a bedroom window to get out on the second level and haul the powerwasher out onto the roof.
I had some bad luck with the mold cleaner I had gotten. For the bottom level I used a brand that I couldn't find again at Homo Depot. So I bought another brand, and it was just not doing a good job. Finally I added some bleach to the mix and it finally started to kill it all. Not exactly environmentally friendly, but I didn't have time to run and get different cleaner while I have all this equipment on the roof.
Boy was I glad to be off that roof! Next step is to touch up the spots where the paint is peeling, and I really need to completely re-paint all the trim. I might wait till May for that project.
Lucas moved in on Wednesday, which took him all of four trips up the steps. He is as quiet as a mouse, and spends a lot of time over at Tony's, so for now, it just seems like it's a base of operations for him. Super sweet guy, and maybe he will make appearance in the journal soon.
Mid-week I went nutso after finding a site called Dogster.com. Online profiles for your dog. I love my dog, but I never was really one of those crazy dog people-not anymore!
Kitty! now has her own profile! She's got a few favorites (She has a chrush on ChaChi right now-he's such a daredevil sleeping on someone's legs that are hanging off a bed. She's added Snickers and couple other dog owners that are ChaosInAustin readers.
I spent way too much time reading all the Austin dog profile…88 last time I looked. (No I didn't read them all!)
You all need to go get your dog(s) on there so Kitty! can corral them and make them her Puppy Pal. I love reading the “How your dog came into your life” stories, so don't neglect that part.
Thursday night I had a model from San Antonio come in for a shoot. Nice looking guy, and here are some face shots.
Friday night Ron and his boyfriend Eric flew in for the weekend. They are going to the aGLIFF Oscar party tonight (Sunday). They took me to dinner on Friday night, and I had a yummy Navajo taco. Dinner was great, and we got all caught up on each other's lives.
I was hoping to catch them all gussied up for the event, but had to settle for this “We just got up late on a Sunday morning and just want to lie on the couch” photo.
Saturday was busy as I photographed the band Matson Belle. The group's lead singer is Katy, the lead singer. I had photographed Omar Lopez, an amazing acoustic and electronic violinist, who also plays with them. He loved his photos, so I got that referral.
Katy gave me one of their CD's and I really like their style. I think you can by their CD online. My favorite track so far is the first track “Fatal Error” She really has a unique voice, and my guess is they will go far.
The shoot lasted from 10am to 3pm, and then they treated me to lunch. We got some great shots. Nothing really artistic,-- they just needed headshots and fun around town shots for promotional stuff, website and possibly CD usage.
After the shoot I was wiped out, but managed to make it to the gym. I paid bills and finalized all the website updates that will happen on Monday. Matt goes online!
Sunday morning I woke up early and prepared the house for Faith to stay and watch Kitty!. I also got one last workout in and went to the grocery store for goodies for the trip.
That's it for now…might check in and let ya know how my mom's surgery goes on Monday.
