Very cool!
I got close to 15 donations for the Team Chaos prints! That put us a little bit closer to the (ugh!) $10,000 mark.
I cant believe we've reached the 39% mark. We still have a way to go, so I am trying to figure out what I can do to convince everyone to give a bit to the fundraiser.
Ya'll have any ideas? What would turn the tide?
I had three guys email me that they would donate if it was a picture of little ole me. Now, that's flattering and all, but I'm not going to go around give signed autographs of myself! Besides, only the journal is really about me me me anymore. Most guys aren't even sure what the photographer looks like. And well, Matt is hot guy, and like I said, I think your gonna see more of him in big places. He's got a great brutal look, and has the fire to keep modeling.
So no, sorry. I'm done being in front of the camera, except of course for these journal entries. Retired!
I have had amazingly positive feedback from guys who have received the prints. They really do look nifty all printed out, signed etc.
Bryan:
My Team Chaos print arrived today, unmangled by the post office, amazing! I just have to figure out where I'm gonna display it. Maybe, I should just leave it in it's folder, it might become a collectable some day.
The print is great!, sorry I couldn't contribute more.

Hi Bry,
I just wanted to let you know, the Team Chaos picture
arrived safely today.
The web does not do justice to your photography! The
picture is great, and I appreciate that you signed it
for me. I was thinking yesterday, that I should have
asked you to sign it, and you must have heard my
thoughts.
I have it hanging right by my computer in my office at
home.
Take care,
Rickster

Hey, Bryan--
The Team Chaos print arrived in great shape. It's up on my studio
wall along with Mr. January (Jeff Palmer Calendar) and a
paint-blistering photo of Adriano Marquez. Please tell Matt he holds
his own just fine. Thanks so much for sending this out to all of us
who contributed.
All my best for a good race and much appreciation for your
fund-raising efforts: you're a great guy!

Hey Bry - just wanted to say thanks for the incredible picture. I received it in the mail yesterday. What a talent you have... what a nice surprise it was to open up considering that most of SC has been one big ice sheet for several days. Power at home finally was restored last night - the dogs were thrilled to be back home.
Anyway - take care and have a great week.

Speaking of Prints and Fundraisers
I got hit up to donate some prints to the Art Erotica event that takes place at Blue Genie on February 21st.
This auction made some good money last year, and I heard quite a buzz about it afterwards.
I debated what to submit. Full on nakies just dont seem to sell, cuz well, how many guys hang full on nudes on their walls. But artistic body shots are more palatable. But I think this art auction is a bit more edgey, so I picked four images that run from one end of the spectrum to the other.
Caution- Full On Nakie Pics!

On friday night, Faith and I went over hundreds of images for both guys. There were some great ones from the Alex shoot, but they were horizontal or really looked better in sepia. So we disqualified a lot quickly. These are what we cam up with.
I sure hope they sell, cuz its so dang expensive getting them matted and framed.
I posted a question on the messagboard a link for feedback. Go over there and share your thoughts now
I printed these out at a full 11x17 size. So they are somewhat big, and that's not a standard, over the counter matte size. Its all custom work. The deadling to turn the work in is the 7th of February. I hope I can get em done in time!
Getting SOMETHING done!
Barbara and Julie came over on Friday and we worked a bit on Barbara's movie. She's been getting lots of press about this movie and it has created a huge "buzz" in the animal studies world.
We finished up about 3pm, but Barbara needed to tweak a whole bunch of sound clips to sync precisely with the movie. So I went out front and put a primer coat on the garage.
It dried quickly, so I slopped on the coat of.....Aluminum colored paint!
I had a couple people come up and say how good the door looked with no paint! That I should keep it that way. I figured I couldn't just leave the metal door all exposed to the elements, so I got aluminum paint.
It looks soooooooo good! It was strange taking off the paint, getting it down to aluminum, then priming it white, then painting it aluminum, but hey, all the proper steps were taken.
Now I just need to find the paint for the trim around the door itself (it took a beating during the paint removal) and it will be all done. The house sure stunk like paint fumes for a day or two.
Next on my list of things to do is to wash the house. YEP! Power wash it! I've got mold and dirt all over one side of the house, and its really quite noticeable.
I'm gonna price out buying a low end one (be cool to have to wash the truck with!) or renting one for the day, or since some spots are pretty high, hiring someone to do it. I really need to restain the fence in the backyard, so purchasing one might find several uses.
I've used them before, and its not as simple as it looks. You gotta be careful not to blow off the paint or even break fencing. I am definitely weiging what I should do based on skill and costs.
The joys of being a homeowner!
The joys of owning teeth!
It's a new year, and that means I can use my dental insurance again. I have a $1500 limit each year, and I went way over that last year with all the crowns, filling replacements, and root canals.
I have two more teeth that are cracked and are zinging me everytime drink something even room temperture, and I had a tooth cleaning this week, so they talked me into getting two of them done.
But no more than that! They wanted to do FOUR crowns on one side, but I'm gonna have to rob a bank to pay for that. Thankfully insurance pays for half of it, so its a big bite, but not near as bad as without the insurance.
I guess every year I will just keep replacing a couple teeth, so that by the time I am 45 I will have a full set of crowns. Oh boy.
So on Tuesday of this week (tomorrow!) think of me as I have two teeth filed down to nothing and icky stinky goop poured in my mouth.
I am looking forward to the Nitrus gas though. Weeeeeeeeeeee!
