Ok, I am pooped again.
It's Saturday night. Didn't think I would have a chance to do a journal entry on Sunday.
Ajaxx63 has a new line of shirts (Spring must me here!) And this time I'm getting ambitious by trying to shoot three models, three locations, all in 3 hours! Hahahahahahahahha!
One location is my studio, so that's not so bad. So my Sunday is going to be crazy busy. Better get something down.
I will try and put a few good ones from the shoot at the end of the journal-- if I have the time!
The weeks been busy preparing for it. Coordinating models, equipment, props. I'm also 3 weeks away from the launch of the new online catalog shopping experience at BCI. So not a lot going on that I can document photo-wise.
Monday was the Kentucky Derby. The gals downstairs at the office had decided last year that this year we would all wear our derby's on derby day. They had even marked it in their planners so no one would forget.
Mary lead the way with bringing hats for those that didn't have one handy. She's got a crazy amount of hats! I wonder where she keep em all? With the additional hats, the turnout and participation was great! Can you see Andy, Mark and Jim in the background, proudly wearing their derbys?
I opted for my pink cowboy hat that I got at last years bike ride. Julie and Carol wore it while they did the sag and sweep. It has a place on my “memory” shelf in my office. Ok, I admit it, I sometimes wear it around the house. It's the pink pompoms, they make me feel pretty.
Speaking of the ride. Here is the official photo of me accepting our award. What a dork. Thanks to photographer Scott Van Osdol for the photo.
In other news, Robert San Roman and I are working together on a few projects. I feel like I am wearing too many hats as it is, so I am actually letting someone else take the lead in something.
Robert sells his prints and that's a market I have never really gone after. I feel spread thin as it is. He knows all about the printing process, and is having stuff professionally printed. I think he put like a 100 images online on eBay! I have no idea whats out there, I only know its from models that have already been on the site.
I seem to be eBay-phobic. That place just makes me crazy. Anyway, he's managing it, and were doing a split of proceeds. So it works out well. He knows that market, and my head won't explode into shards of bone and alien tracking devices if I took on another project.
Speaking of taking on another project. The book thing is really taking shape in my mind. Perhaps if I sell some photos on eBay, I can put the proceeds to producing a book. I doubt I will make any money from it, it's more well, I dunno, just something I wanna do.
Actually, seems silly, but really, I think my parents would really dig it. It's crazy to think that here I am almost 40 years old, and I still want to impress them….with a book full of naked guys! Hahaha! But I guess its something solid I can show 'em. Ya know?
Robert also has tons of video of guys. TONS! He doesn't have the drive to get them turned into to digital images. I don't seem to be able to convince myself to do videos myself.
So when I launch chaosinaustin.tv I will have lots of vids. The cool thing is I think there is a way to do Pay Per View, and that means, no monthly fee. Just watch what you wanna watch. Since we've been sharing models, there is lots of crossover.
Hopefully by the end of Summer I will have that going.
Ok, that's it for this entry. Sorry so short!
The iPod winner!!!!!
Congrats go out to Al from Colonial Heights, Virginia for his winning entry!
He will be notified via email, and hopefully we can get an update from him when the iPod arrives
Thank you thank you THANK YOU for supporting this cause. WE totally make a difference. Over 70 percent of what we raise goes right to AIDS services. Not some lame 15 percent! David Smith and his team make sure practically everything is donated, and he is the only full-time paid employee. Our efforts go straight to those who need it the most.
Special thanks to corporate sponsor Bill Evans and Ajaxx63.com!
Between us and all the other hard workers, we will likely make almost $400,000 in donations! That is A lot of money for a single two-day event, making it the biggest AIDS fundraiser in Austin history!
CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE WHO DONATED!
