New digs |
Yeah, so I skipped last week. I had to paint my new office last Sunday.
Yep, I moved offices. . . again.
Remember what I said about Elaine leaving? Well, she's back. Our new bazillion dollar President was dismissed and now Elaine is President. Slick..eh?
Elaine is kick ass. Real driven, organized, and can handle our Founder. Optimism is finally back up.
The upshot was she moved into the Presidential Suite, which left her fabulous corner office open. I turned it down the first time it was offered to me, not wanting the hassle of moving my server farm again, but they made me see the logic in it, so I up and moved.

I REALLY like my new office. They will have to pry it from my cold dead fingers before I leave this one behind. It's in the same location as my last office (corner) but I am up on the top level and I feel like I am sitting in a treehouse with the completely glassed in walls.
What was real funny was how the office was rooting for me to get the office cuz my last move I had no room for my couch. They were all sad to see it go. Ironically, I sold that couch about three weeks ago to Mary for $200. So it was off to buy a new one with Mary's money. Of course I couldn't find one for that cheap, but it came daaaaamn close ($300). I have my super top secret location for finding furniture at uber cheap prices. Shhhhhhh.
The new couch is not as comfy as the last one, but the staff will break it in no time. I have a constant stream of visitors to my office. Some therapy mixed with business advice, and TONS of planning. Practically the whole staff came by to sit on it for their trial run. I can't believe how much it was missed.
Elaine's office was painted yellow also. Not a bad yellow like the last office, but a very pale and pleasing yellow. It didn't go with my new Queer Eye makeover I had planned, and besides, yellow makes me look jaundiced.
I had to get it painted, and quick, I was going to be moving my server farm on Monday, and once that was in place, it would be impossible to paint.
Joey, who works at Lowe's paint department, and is a paint expert, came over last Sunday and helped me paint all day. We worked from 11am to 9pm. There was no way I could have done it without him.
We worked well together to. Joey is a new friend, and we were pleased that we could spend the whole day working on such a tiring project without any drama. He's a good guy, and I think he will pose for my Jock art piece that I have been doing. Will get some pics of him up here someday soon! Amazing green eyes!
So basically, that blew my Sunday, and there was so much..uh..chaos the week before with all the office drama, there wasn't really much to cover.
Remember when I said Faith and went around Austin and took pictures? Well they came in handy. I have NEVER had any artwork up in my office. So printed up some of the images we took in black and white with some one element in the image done in sepia. They look great if I say so myself, and I really like the Austin theme.
I went out late Saturday night and took a couple night shots. I need two more pictures to finish off the wall. I like the night shot, but was surprisged that all the lights were out on the buildings. Is that something they did for terrorists? That just stoopid? Like that bit of neon is any brighter than what the building looks like now and makes that much better of a target. I think a terrorist could FIND the building even without the neon.
The Austin Motel is VERY Austin, but not sure it fits. I might go take me some Longhorn photos. Way stereotypical, but will fit.
Quite a bit has gone on this week, plus I have some stuff I want you all to do for me.
So let's get on with it.
