Yep, it's final, my house in Austin is officially for sale.
The guy who was supposed to move in last week never showed. Didn't even call. My roommate Bill called him to find out where he was. He apparently moved somewhere else. Didn't even let us know.
Grrrrr…
So that was the last straw. Bill Evans has the listing, so go check out his listings. If you want to buy a ginormous house at rock bottom price, in lovely Austin, act fast!
Actually, I am thinking it will take a couple months to sell the house, and that hopefully it will. David's house is not due to be finished till May, and I don't want him having to move twice. Not sure what Bill is going to do, but at least he should have lots of time to get a game plan together.
I'm really feeling the need to go on vacation right now. Little burned out. Course I would just want to go some place tropical and take more photos of guys, but hell, I would be some place tropical!
JBB called me tonight. He reminded me that we need to get something set up for Costa Rica. I want to get a couple guys together, and I can't bear to go without Bill, so I might have to wait a bit.
Prolly should wait till taxes are filed too. I bet I owe oodles this year. The hacking into my retirement is gonna kill me.
I think I want to go to Costa Rica cuz last weekend a small group of us went down to Rosarita Mexico for an overnight stay. It definitely left me wanting for more.
About a dozen of us piled into a rented van and took the hour or so trip over the border.
I've not been to Mexico since I was 14, and even then it was in uber tourista Cancun. Tijuana, or TJ as they say around here, has always gotten mixed reviews. Some say there are some nice parts, but I tell ya, driving through, I sure didn't see them.
I don't want to assume all of Mexico looks this way, but geez, it's pretty bad. Slums everywhere, piles of trash just tossed out the back of the house, roads in terrible repair. All within a mile of super clean and pristine San Diego border.
Rosarita was better, and you could see pockets of development happening. It SHOULD be much nicer. Lots of American dollars could come over the border.
I don't know much about economics, but it's frustrating to see this. I keep thinking “Just clean up after yourselves! Just apply yourselves!” But I don't know anything about how things Are, and my simple-minded solution is just naïve, and way way way skewed towards suburban American.
Our overnight accomdations- Los Rocas Resort.
The hotel we stayed at was nice, an contrast from the drive in. Not stellar, but more than nice enough for a couple day stay. The rooms themselves were not great, but the rest of the hotel was actually very very nice.
I had a great view of the ocean. I was looking forward to hearing the waves at night, but the highway was on the other side of my room, and the sound of ill-tuned trucks overpowered the gentle wave sound action. Poop!
We had heard that hotel was completely booked up, but ya sure couldn't tell by the pool and surrounding public spaces. As you can tell from this video pan, that there is not a single person about! It was like we had the hotel to ourselves! That I like!
There was a wedding party, and they did take up a lot of rooms, and perhaps they had their own things going on that kept them from the drunken madness that ensued. We kept threatening to break-in and sabotage the wedding.
I think we arrived by 11:30am and Katie and Chris already had drinks ordered for everyone. They started off the festivities by showing us some of their finer dance moves.
These handsome gentlemen were part of my traveling entourage.
The weather was also not cooperating. Not much to do in Rosarita if the weather is poor. You can lay by the pool, go to the beach, horseback ride, and eat Lobster. It was overcast and sprinkled a little.
Despite the overcast skies, it was still nice enough to lounge by the pool and take a dip in the hot tub.
We did spend a lot of time in the hot tubs just beyond the very cool infinity pool. I opted to just keep warm in the hot tub rather then make my teeth chatter in the cool pool.
A few people over indulged. My production assistant Chris was wiped out by 2pm. He had a pretty good headache to start with, and the booze probably didn't help. We found him passed out by the pool later on. We snuck up on him and gave him a start.
Two daring individuals went out to explore the coast line as the tide pools formed. The rocky terrain was a challenge for the slightly inebriated explorers. Needless to say, we kept a close eye on them
By 3pm everyone needed some alone time to recuperate. We agreed to meet up for diner later.
We took a short van ride down to Rosarita, trying to find a restaurant that we didn't think we would get food poisoning from. Lobster is apparently a speciality of this city, despite the fact that lobster hunting is not known to be particularly good here. It just kind of happened.
There was nothing on the menu I could eat. It was all seafood (bleh!). They did have some steak, but I'm not a steak eater either. Besides, in most seafood restaurants, they tend to cook the seafood on the same grill as the other meats, and it all pretty much tastes fishy to me. I had had nachos a couple hours before, so wasn't really that hungry, so I ordered some flan for dessert.
Most everyone complained about their food though. Chris's steak looked like a boiled pork chop and had chunks of lobster shell embedded in it. The food quality quickly became the topic of conversation.
When Chris daringly decided to order dessert, a cheesecake, Katie couldn't believe he was going to challenge fates by ordering more food. Chris said, “You don't know Katie, it might just be the BEST cheesecake ever.”
Katie was so sure that the cheesecake would not be the Best, that the two of them got into a bet.
The cheesecake arrived (looking like it had been shipped in from the Cheesecake Factory) and sure enough it was pretty dang yummy. Katie lost her bet and grudgingly conceded, giving us a quick preview of the flesh to come.
Finally, Katie turned the camera on me and tried to put me on the spot. Before viewing this video, you gotta understand that Katie and Chris often try to "out do" each other with outrageous comments. Nothing is sacred, and the goal is to out gross the other person. Katie asks me what I want to DO with her, after doing her chest trick. I put this in here, cuz I don't think many of you have seen me "live" as it were. Listen as Chris feeds me lines and then asks how big my penis is. The video ends with me saying, "I think I would rather be behind the camera."
After dinner, we went back to the hotel where they had karaoke going on. I don't sing. My family never sang, and watching people sing always makes uncomfortably embarrassed. I envy the way a lot of people just get up there and charge ahead, singing off key but having a blast. One of our party got up there and sang, and did an amazing job with “By the Sea.” Wow! Impressive!
By then I was running out of steam. My goal for the trip was different than everyone else's. I wanted to rest and not do anything and just get caught up on some much needed rest. I wanted 8 hours of sleep.
At 10pm I headed back to my hotel room, falling asleep almost instantly.
Apparently Katie did follow up on her topless dash, as well as Chris and another guy streaking around the hotel.
Everyone woke up at various times on Saturday morning, in various states of mental and physical health.
I got up pretty early, and enjoyed listening to the recap of all the mis-adventures that happened. Would have been fun to have it all on film, but I doubt I would have been able to post it anyway.
The weather had not cleared up so basically we waited for everyone to get up and get fed to just head back to San Diego. Chris and I waited in the lobby for everyone to get their act together. Hmmm..he tastes like booze.
I got home, took a much need bath, and took a nap.
I have had some more photoshoots too.
I mentioned last time that I had a shoot with Steve, and here is a shot of him.
Super sweet guy and I love his long hair!
This last weekend, I also got to work with a guy named Bo. He is brand new to modeling but he just did a shoot for Men magazine. I am guessing he will be really popular and he has everything it takes to be a big model type star.
I hope he makes it. He and his girlfriend came down and they were awesome to work with. I want to work with him again.
Well that's about it.
