It's not the end of an era, but is it?
Yep boys and girls, I am going on Hiatus. Taking a break from the journal. Could be permanent, but might be back.
There are several big reasons.
The biggest being I am not real happy with San Diego. I keep to myself, which feels right, and just don't have a large circle of friends that I trust, and trust me. The city is ok, the people are ok, but I am pretty far out from the hub of activity, and really, I'm not doing more than what you would find on Home Garden TV.
I'm afraid my journal entries would become way too bitchy. An occasional dramatic entry is aok, but 18 more months of them and the journal will become a ginormous black hole.
Like I said, I keep to myself, and I am liking it. Yakking about work isn't possible, and there are only so many amusing Kitty! anecdotes one can tolerate. I have a feeling the house in Austin will become even more of a burden, and hate to admit it, but prolly coming to San Diego was a big mistake. Everything is moving along on the house sale, but I just got “a bad feeling” about it.
Another huge reason is physical. My tendonitis in my right arm is obscenely bad and isn't getting better. I have been trying to stay away from the computer as much as possible, only using it to work on photos. Unfortunately, I take a LOT of photos these days. Last week there was just no way I wanted to spend four hours tossing photos and text together for the next journal entry. Basically, I called in sick.
Finally, well, I think it is time. Time for some privacy, time to let fresh younger guys take on the blog world, and time to get my Sunday's back.
I know a few of you login on Monday morning and have your coffee me (Get back to work!) and sorry I can't be there for ya. Lots of Blogs out there these days, so there are plenty of locations to get your fix. I will miss ya too.
I will be keeping the B-central list active, and if I feel like I am in need of journal entries (they can be quite theapuetic!) I will let everyone know one has been uploaded.
I am sure a few of you will cancel your memberships. Some of you say you joined only cuz of the journal. I will be sorry to see ya go too, but I really want to focus full-time on photography and video, challenging myself in new ways that I hope you will still come back and tune in to see.
Thanks for tuning into the Bryan Ockert show. It's been 7 great seasons!
Ya'll take care of yourselves.
