Kayt Snarls! |
Strange week.
I've been trying to get back on top of everything, but still finding too many projects pulling me apart.
Like I am juggling 12 items, and I can only touch each one for a second, never really completely finishing each one.
I really need to take a week or two off work so I can get everything settled on the website front, but that's not gonna happen. I've got this new online sales and internal accounting system to roll out.
As much as I whine about too much to do, of course it's my own fault. Just can't say no! Thing is, I have been saying no. Just way too many projects lingering about I guess.
As tough as I have it, my week still didn't go as poorly as Kayt's from Matson Belle.
I love Kayt oodles. We've done lunch a couple times, and I have filmed her a couple times. I totally dig hanging with her.
I knew her last album was delayed, but didn't ask why as I figured her fans were probably pummeling her with questions as to its whereabouts.
An announcement for the release arrived this week with this bit of info.
Three days before the completion of our CD, one of our new bandmates who had been performing with us for the last 7 months, informed us that he took all of the songs that Kayt wrote years before he joined the project and copyrighted them with the Library of Congress under HIS name. If we released the CD without his "permission" then he would sue our asses off for copyright infringement. He demanded a sum of money to walk away. After a month of mudslinging with attorneys we have had to pay this guy off - and in the process incurred several thousand dollars of attorney's fees and other losses.
The proceeds from the first 500 CDs sold at Waterloo or the website will all go towards the fund as well.

I couldn't believe it!
Kayt and I had lunch this week, and we talked about what happened and the fundraiser they have planned.
I asked if there was a “gray” area…like he wrote the tunes, and felt they were his. Not according to Kayt.
So I am trying to help sell some of the new album "Goodbye Juggernaut", which I would have done anyway. I bought a couple for my mom and my sister. But I thought maybe you all might like to buy a copy.
THIS IS GOOD STUFF!
I've been playing it over and over and over and over.
The last album I have of theirs, Architexture, was my favorite for a while there. Mainly cuz I think I heard some many of the tracks live and I could visualize Kayt up on stage belting these songs out.
That CD is still available too, and I HIGHLY recommend it. It's got some great tracks like “Fatal Error” and anyone who has had an cyber relationship will immediately relate to it.
You can sample all the tracks by clicking here
So it took me a couple listens to get into Goodbye Juggernaut. But then I was listening to it 5 times in a row. (I have it on now!)
The first track “All the Fine Gentlemen” is about how all the gay boys treat her well while the straight boys have ..uh..no manners.
Here are the lyrics.
All the Fine Gentlemen
You loved me
and left me
out to hang dry
Before the door
hit my ass
you gave me a high-five
And I’m mad that
a man like you could have me wrapped around your middle finger
And it’s sad that
a man like you can call yourself a man, much less a doctor, yeah.
You tried to redeem yourself
and begged to meet again
You brought your new hosebag
to prove I didn’t win
It’s the ones who like trucks and guns and Superbowls who treat me like a cannibal
It’s the ones who like Madonna, Gwen and Cher who I’d take to meet my mother yeah
All the good men left are homosexuals
All the fine gentlemen like other fine men
And it’s too late,
you’ve stumbled
and wrapped yourself around my middle finger
And it’s alright to be irate
and suffocate as long as doesn’t linger
You bruised me
and beat me
subconsciously
My shiny new
war wounds make a great accessory
It’s the ones who like tits and ass and porno mags who treat me like an animal
Why don’t you come see what life is like when people grab on like a petting zoo yeah.
All the good men left are homosexuals
All the fine gentlemen like other fine men
And it’s too late,
you’ve stumbled
and wrapped yourself around my middle finger
And it’s alright to be irate
and suffocate as long as doesn’t linger

You can also hop on over to her site and listen to all the tracks. The quality of the MP3 play is a lot lower (to keep bandwidth down) so don't judge to harshly on the fidelity.
To sweeten the deal, Bill found a hidden cache of my ChaosInAustin t-shirts.
There are 8 Smalls, 14 Mediums, 13 Large's and 6 X-tra Larges. Left.
Below are some PayPal buttons.
Come On…try some new music. Take a chance!
I would love to show Kayt what Fine Gentlemen we are!
CD and t-shirt price is $19.99 and that includes shipping!
Orders are through PayPal.
