Hey gang!
This is gonna be a super quick one.
The week flew by. Lots of shopping and getting ready for the Holidays.
I did some shopping for my mom and sister, and managed to get them over to the shipping place. Hopefully they will arrive in time so I can get them wrapped up and under the tree.
I arrive early Wednesday morning, and my parents are meeting me at the airport at 7:30am! Then we are off to the Maul, so I can get bigger bulkier things that I didn't want to ship or drag on the plane with me. I don't think I have ever done my shopping so last minute. Damn! I'm turning into my father!
Speaking of Christmas gifts. . . The Hill Country Ride people got the website up! (with some minor DHTML error) And just in time for Holiday Gift Giving. So if you were thinking of sending a token of your appreciation, this is the place to do it!
I have about 10 people who have committed to riding on my team, so I will be working on donations for everyone. But I gotta get my own funding up there too.
So show some Christmas spirit, and give to a good cause (also an excellent end of year tax break!)

And yes, I will be TEDIOUSLY needling you all for donations up until the ride! Muwhaa!
Ok, back to the week re-cap
Work has been extra crazy busy. Elaine's totally taken all of our projects under her wing, set deadlines, goals, etc. (Yeah! A manager who MANAGES!). This means everyone is working on their projects, and many of the projects really “Get Bryan to Do This”
Normally this place is dead around the Holidays, but not this year.
It's been a while since I have worked the week of Christmas. Usually I have it off and am in Colorado. We actually get Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday off as paid vacation, so I am thrilled I am not having to take any vacation days!
So I am working Monday and Tuesday, and they will be very busy days despite a lot of the office out.
Last week I also went over for Bill Evans and Carrie York's Christmas Luncheon at Siena restaurant. This is a beautiful restaurant in the Hill Country. Great food, and this year my table mates were extra chatty and I had really good social time.
A boy who dances in clubs in New Orleans has been emailing me about doing a shoot. We decided to shoot over the weekend of December 20th. He emailed me early last week saying, “Ok, you better send directions, I'm on my way!”
So he arrived late Friday night, and I hosted him all weekend.
We shot for about 4 hours on Saturday and got some great pics.
Saturday night he danced at the Boyz Cellar, and slept in till noon on Sunday.
I spent Sunday morning NOT working on this journal entry.
I realized my portfolio book was getting old, and I have had about a years worth of photos to add to a new book. I spent hours combing through everyone's shoots, trying to find 3-4 perfect shots.
My 2nd portfolio book will mostly be sepia prints, but those durn color ones keep creeping in. I can't help myself. I love color!
So I printed about 50 prints, and have another 30 or so to go.
Some of the images I will add to my BryanOckert.com site on the portfolio pages. Check back there later this week, and you will get some sneak peeks at some upcoming models.
I also shot with a friend named John. I don't have a pic handy, but I guess the point I am making is…I AM BROKE!
That's 8 models in about 7 weeks. Too much output, not enough input.
So I am gonna chill for a while on the photos. Try and get some of them online for ya'll
That's it. Off to Colorado on Wednesday.
Have a terrific Holiday!
